Folk artists were drawn to the commercial life of New York City, depicting new technological marvels, everyday transactions, and business people of all ranks. An 1805 watercolor portrait Fig. 6 of John Herman Raub, identified in that years city directory as a counter at the Manhattan Bank of New York forerunner of the Chase Manhattan Bank, now JP Morgan Chase shows him at work with a set of scales, a pencil tucked behind his ear. An appended poem handwritten in English and German defends his honesty and skill and points out that Master, Child, or Slave are equal here. Raub prospered enough that, in the US census of 1820, he is, ironically, recorded as the head of a household that included one male slave. Fig. 1. Asher Androvette by John Bradley active 18321845, 1832. Signed and dated I Bradley Deli. n 1832. at lower right.

Wind, south east. Friday, 6th June, Plain East of Blue Swamp. Sent King and Billiatt back with the horses, while I proceeded with the other two on a course 70 degrees east of north. At a mile and a half came suddenly upon a scrubby ironstone rise about twenty feet high. After passing over a rotten plain, full of holes and covered with grass and stunted gum trees, proceeded to the top, from which we had a good view of the surrounding countryto all appearance one of the blackest and most dismal views a man ever beheld; even the splendid grass country I had been coming through has the same appearance. The cause of it is the trees being so thick, and some of them of a very dark colour, that nothing but their tops can be seen, which gives it the appearance of being a dense scrub. To the west there is an appearance of a scrubby risethe one on which I have been on my other journeys to the north. No hills visible; all appears to be a level country. Proceeded down the gradual slope, crossing two other lower ironstone undulations, meeting occasionally with small rotten plains with holes, and covered with grass. At five miles the ground became firmer; at seven miles met with what seemed to be a water shed. After a long search found that the flow of the water was to the west of north; traced it a short distance to the south east and found a small shallow pool of water and gave our horses a drink; and wishing to take advantage of anything that may take me to the north west, I turned and traced it down; passed three ponds with some water in them, and at three miles came upon a fine large one two and a half feet deep; followed it still on, but was disappointed on finding it terminate in a dry swamp, all cracked and full of holes; circled round it to see if the creek took up again, but could see no appearance of any.

TiSA is the Trade in Services Agreement currently under negotiation in Geneva , and especially important for developing new trade rules. BRICS are notably absent from this group. GPA is the Government Procurement Agreement. This is only signed by selected members of WTO, especially US, Canada, Europe, Japan. It does not include any of the BRICS or poorest countries. It covers in particular non discrimination in public procurement contracts above certain thresholds, and bans such things as local content provisions. The US is also pitching for a TPP Trans Pacific Trade Agreement with 11 other countries, while China is implementing a Free Trade Agreement with many Asian countries. 75% of World Trade will be covered by three such agreements T TIP, TPP, and the China Asia FTA. One might ask where Africa is in this story as far as can be seen, nowhere. However, the EU will have a key position in the new emerging World Trade architecture. What are the main areas of difficulty in the T TIPS negotiations?1.

This might provide a more equitable comparison, which decreases the principals perception of inequity and under reward. For example, an employee who feels underpaid at work compared to his co workers under reward might start taking longer breaks which decreases productivity reduced input. By decreasing inputs, the perception of equity is restored. Conversely, an employee who feels overpaid compared to co workers over reward might choose to start working through the lunch hour increased input. In both of these examples, the employee was dissatisfied with their perceived inequity and reduced or increased their input to achieve equity. Types of behavioral outcomes are also determined by the employees perception of under reward or over reward. If an employee doesnt receive their annual holiday bonus as expected under reward they might steal office supplies for their home to compensate increased outcome. Even though the employee might ethically disagree with stealing, the employee justifies the action based upon the need to restore equity. Theft has been found as a retaliation tactic to unfairness in the workplace Hollinger and Clark, 1983. An employee can also take more ethical action to increase inputs, such as lobbying for a wage increase or extra time off. On the other hand, an employee that perceives inequity due to a large holiday bonus over reward might donate toys to the company daycare center reduced outcome.
