doctor by profession got posted in a town which was around 200 kms from where we lived. Because my mother who is also a state govt employee as a teacher was posted in our town, my father couldnt take all of us to the place of transfer, also for the reason that he did not want us to change schools. He ran from pillar to post, literally begging the Govt officials to take note of his situation and get him transferred back to our town. He in fact found another doctor who was posted in our town and had his family living in the town where my father had been transferred. Both of them mutually agreed to swap their positions and also signed an undertaking to be presented to the Govt. He even approached the health minister of the state. But it didnt work out. At last, he had to resort to the final option: bribe!And after paying that, he got himself transferred back to our town. I dont know exactly but he paid a pretty large sum at different levels to get this done. Well, in a situation like this, when all the doors are closed for you except one, what can you possible do?In some situations, it is inevitable. As a govt employee, you are bound to suffer if you dont have any connections with politicians and top bureaucrats.
